I used to love Chick-fil-A until I realized how much they dislike gay people. There came a point where I had to decide not to support a business that works against establishing equal rights for the Trans Queer community.
I used to enjoy introducing new friends to their chicken burgers, sipping on the banana shakes with surprise bread chunks and mostly their assorted sauces to dip my fries in. I was religiously taking friends there because it was a new hot place to eat my fast food that wasn’t In-N -Out, another one of my favorites.
The picture below was posted by one of my Facebook friends. He is holding a Now Hiring flyer! The fine print reads:
Chick-fil-A reserves the right to question, in detail, your sexual relationship history. The bible and Chick-fil-A define a traditional relationship as consisting of a man and a woman. Anyone living a life of sin need not apply.
Chick-fil-A is considered to be anti-gay by the gay rights group Equality Matters. The fast food joint talks often about pushing back on what they consider “the homosexual agenda” that has continued to spread like chlymidia.
In a Huffington Post article:
California native and NYU freshman Hillary Dworkoski has launched a protest against the fast food chain, saying she is disturbed by the company’s reported financial support of several groups with “anti-gay” motives, including Focus On The Family, Exodus International, and the Family Research Council.
A petition calling for the university to close its Chick-fil-A franchise, reportedly the only one in Manhattan, has attracted over 5,000 signatures since Dworkoski launched it in January.
Will you continue eating at a restaurant that is anti-gay? Well, even if you continue to eat there, at least you know that you will not be working there anytime soon, you sinful being!

IGNORANCE! Will never eat here again! One of my clients told me that Target donated $$$ for “yes on Prop 8!”? And it just so happens that the WEST HOLLYWOOD store ranks # 1 for sales! This would encourage me to go apply @ Chick-fil A!!!!
A**holes!!! None of their business!
I always eat there. Some Chick Fil A are individually owned and operated. While, I strongly believe in civil rights, I’m sure we can all look at one certain company and question their corporate giving. The one in Oxnard, always donates to our gay organization and is very proud and public about their corporate giving. Plus, two gay people work there.
If they’re individually owned and operated then WHY DO THEY ALL CLOSE ON GOD’S DAY??? Fuck Chick Fil A!!!
You know I’ve never eaten there but I’ve always been curious about their food. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it… until now. This will been one curiosity I will never attempt to experience.
That’s why I don’t eat there, ever!
Lalo Castro, I demand proof of their corporate giving to gay organizations. Are they aware of where their money is going to? if you provide me proof, I will take down my article, change my tone and start eating there again.
I do believe in free speech, but the article has fallacies. For one, chick-fil-A does hire gay people. My friend who is openly gay works there and has been working there ever since the opening of the restaurant. We need to realize that chick-fil-a is a franchise, therefore each restaurant can give to any organization they please. Corporate giving can include in-kind donations and sometimes they have special fundraising days for non profits in which they donate up to 20 percent of the nights sales. I’m not sure why culture would be misleading the public with false information, especially the title which is completely 100 % wrong. Should we stop shopping and stop supporting the Salvation Army because they are a Christian organization as well…? Even though they don’t support marriage values?
This article from HuffPost states the flyer was indeed false:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/09/chick-fil-a-speaks-out-on_n_1335449.html
However, this article from the New York Times describes in greater detail the corporate company’s conservative religious foundation and millions of dollars in donations given to various organizations, including anti-same sex marriage groups and initiatives:

I guess it just comes down to a customer’s point of view. Either you do not mind spending your cash at a chain of restaurants with a corporate parent who has donated millions to anti-gay initiatives -or- you will refuse to support a company with anti- equality underpinnings.
The choice is yours.
very Interesting…..
This is rediculous! Yes people have the right to speech, but should the public support their discrimination. Would you think people should support a restaurant that Fred Phelps’ group opened. How do you think a restaurant that stood for segregation of black people should do? You can use religion to blanket your hatred. But real , right minded people should know that that behavior is Wrong- think about it – hater.
